Homes offer a personality that one can fall in love with which makes for an experience like no other. What’s interesting is that this isn’t a new concept. Long before hotels came into existence, people were enjoying home vacays – be it visiting grandparents, distant relatives or friends. These were the most memorable ones – not only because of the people but because of the space.
One of the biggest reasons why homes are becoming a preferred choice is because one is not confined to a single room but has access to spaces like a garden, terrace for lazy reading, cozy corners and living room for a grand get together. At the same time, homes give you privacy just like your own home would.
Today spatial design is gaining momentum when it comes to making stays at homes memorable. Spatial design attempts to strike a balance between aesthetics and function of the space.
Designers are constantly innovating by creating thematic and conceptual designs that make for an experiential stay at homes. All sustainability at the heart of it all – material in use is environmentally friendly or transportation footprint is reduced by tapping into local markets. The mantra is try to recycle, upcycle or reuse. And let’s not begin from scratch and ensure that every inch is planned for maximum use. Use natural light and make greenery a default part of design.
- Thematic Homes: Biking – a biker has an emotional attachment to his/her machine. Hence, space experience at such a property reflects this. The design elements are inspired by the shape and parts of a motorcycle; Music – perfect for jam sessions, a music inspired home will transport you into a different world altogether. It will be your space of solace – a break from the routine life.
- Conceptual Homes: Diving – if you love the beaches, then you will definitely love a diving inspired house that draws all its elements from diving. One will feel a sense of neutral buoyancy in the decor.
Homes are a great way for people to try new things and live unique experiences. It is an opportunity to offer guests a ‘home away from home’ with designs that are inspired by the local culture and cater to varied personalities. With travel and tourism boosting in India and new vacation spots coming up, homes are set to gain a stronger foothold in the hospitality segment.
