Social media is a great place to share the things we’re passionate about – whether it’s what we’re doing, what we’re eating or just funny pictures of cats.
And often what we share is based on what we’re doing at that stage in life.
So what happens if you gain a massive following for posting about one thing – and then, life changes suddenly, and you start posting something completely different?
Midwife and fitness blogger Hannah Polites discovered just that after she started posting very different type of pictures.
Originally she was posting gym selfies on Instagram after several fitness sites picked up photos of her in her sports gear.
Things quickly picked up, she gained a lot of followers and she’s now paid to travel the world thanks to her social media success.
But last year her whole life changed when she welcomed a little girl with her fiance Garth.
Now, like most other new mums, she likes to share photos of her beautiful daughter Evaliah Grace on social media.
And while she’s picked up lots of new mummy follows she’s noticed many of her male followers have disappeared.
“I definitely have lost a lot of male followers and people that maybe aren’t interested in babies,” she told news.com.au .
“But I’ve gained a lot of mummy followers since my page has changed a lot.
“I think my followers have grown with me: the girls who were 20 are now 26 and they want to see more about babies and marriage.
